5 yr. Anniversary Beefsteak Dinner

JOIN US FOR A FABULOUS NIGHT OF GLUTTONY AS WE TOAST TO FIVE YEARS WITH A TRADITIONAL BEEFSTEAK DINNER

We’re Collaborating with Local Artist, Businesses, and Charity for our Fifth Anniversary

We’re excited to announce our first-ever Traditional Beefsteak dinner on November 15 at 6:30 p.m. We’re proud to be teaming up with food and drink sponsors Flannery Beef and Broadbent , and local artist Cruz Ortiz for this event with 100% of the proceeds benefiting ChildSafe San Antonio.

What’s a Beefsteak Dinner you ask?  Patrons can expect an all-you-can-eat, no-utensil style dinner, with massive amounts of top quality proteins and wine served family style at communal tables for a fantastic evening of gluttony, food, drink, and friends.  Beefsteak is a tradition harkening back to old New York. According to Food and Wine, a beefsteak dinner is a “form of gluttony as stylized and regional as the riverbank fish fry, the hot-rock clambake, or the Texas barbecue.” This 19th century-style dinner was once common in New York City, thrown by politicians to attract votes or raise funds. Traditionally, guests dressed in black-tie and, with their hands, ate meat from tables set with brown paper and drank an abundance of beer. We couldn’t think of a better tradition to tap into to celebrate our Birthday!

Joining us for the evening will be Bryan Flannery himself (Butcher Extraordinaire!) from San Rafael, CA and San Antonio’s own Cruz Ortiz.  This will be Flannery’s second exclusive dinner at The Granary, the first being a huge success. We are also excited to have Cruz Ortiz of Snake Hawk Press setting up shop outside the resturant selling prints & merchandise.  Ortiz also designed and printed the exclusive butcher aprons patrons joining us will receive for the evening.
